About this print

Somewhere In India

The vague title is a tell. The cat is precisely in front of the Taj Mahal in Agra at the right hour, and refuses to admit it. Calling the print 'Somewhere' was a small act of resistance against every tourist who ever captioned the Taj 'Wow'. The marble does its thing. The chai is from a stall behind the gate. Both are good.

Standing full body on a marble plinth, black-and-white vertical-stripe top with a long black skirt, orange-striped chai mug centred. Behind, the Taj Mahal dome in cream marble with two flanking minarets, terracotta foreground wall with carved jaali panels, cypress silhouettes far left.

Goes onto a living-room shelf above the books on India. Lives well in a hallway. Sits well in any room that wants a Sunday-morning energy.

Why this one earns the wall

Print and paper. 350gsm cotton coated matte archival paper, acid-free, fade-resistant for fifty-plus years. Canvas option in 380gsm poly-cotton.

Palette. Teal sky, cream Taj marble, terracotta foreground jaali wall, B&W stripe top, black skirt, terracotta chai mug, dark cypress.

No glare. Matte finish, no acrylic. Looks like a print on a wall, not a screen.

3+1 Framing Standard. Five-layer build, hand-finished premium box frames, rings with framing wire for easy hanging pre-installed. Framed in Bombay.

On your wall by Friday. Production starts within twelve hours of order. Free shipping pan-India.

Our promise. If anything is off when it lands, message us and we will resolve with a new ETA.

घर से एक चिट्ठी
A short letter from the studio

We started this because nobody was writing about Indian art the way we wanted to read it.

RareMango began in a one-room office in Bombay in 2022. Two of us, a printer that was always too hot, and a stubborn idea: that Indian wall art deserves a brand that talks about it the way friends talk about it, specific, warm, occasionally wrong, never bored.

Most of what you’ll find on this site is reproduction prints. Museum-grade, framed by our own team, attributed by region and school. Some of it is original work by named artists. All of it is curated, not collected. If a piece is on our site, it’s because we’d hang it on our own walls.

If you ever want to talk to a human about a piece, the WhatsApp number on the package is mine. We mean it.
