About this print
Maa Durga in Skanda-Mata form. The mother on the throne, lion at her feet.
Mahalaya morning, Bengali households hang one image of the goddess above all others. The Skanda-Mata, four-armed, sun-halo radiating, the child Skanda on her lap and the lion seated below. The painter renders this lineage in modern watercolour. Red-and-gold saree, full mukut, the child Skanda smiling, the lion calm. Indian grandmothers hang this for the daughter's first home and the grandson's room.

Returns and refunds?
Since every piece is made to order, we replace pieces that arrive damaged or defective. Please contact us within 24 hours of delivery and keep the original packaging.

A short letter from the studio
We started this because nobody was writing about Indian art the way we wanted to read it.
RareMango began in a one-room office in Bombay in 2022. Two of us, a printer that was always too hot, and a stubborn idea: that Indian wall art deserves a brand that talks about it the way friends talk about it, specific, warm, occasionally wrong, never bored.
Most of what you’ll find on this site is reproduction prints. Museum-grade, framed by our own team, attributed by region and school. Some of it is original work by named artists. All of it is curated, not collected. If a piece is on our site, it’s because we’d hang it on our own walls.
