About this print

Lord Krishna in the forest valley. The flute, the deer, the running stream.

Vrindavan-Mahatmya texts describe a higher forest where the deer come to listen, where the river runs through the meadow. The painter renders this widest of all Vrindavan scenes. Lord Krishna seated on the mossy bank, lotus flowers at his feet, two herds of deer on either side, the stream in the foreground, the cloudy peak in the distance. Indian families who travel to Sikkim and Himachal recognise this register from the high meadows.

Cinematic digital painting with photo-real forest depth. Lord Krishna in blue skin, peacock-feather mukut, gold ornaments, mustard-yellow dhoti. Tall pine and deodar in deep green, Himalayan peak in pale grey-blue, white lotus and wildflowers, deer in soft warm light.

For the living room main wall. The home office. The travel-loving family's drawing room.

Why this one earns the wall

Print and paper. 350gsm cotton coated matte archival paper, acid-free, fade-resistant for fifty-plus years. Canvas option in 380gsm poly-cotton.

Palette. Pine green, mustard dhoti, deer-tan and pale-blue peak. The forest-valley palette in cinematic-digital register.

No glare. Matte finish, no acrylic. Looks like a print on a wall, not a screen.

3+1 Framing Standard. Five-layer build, hand-finished premium box frames, rings with framing wire for easy hanging pre-installed. Framed in Bombay.

On your wall by Friday. Production starts within twelve hours of order. Free shipping pan-India.

Our promise. If anything is off when it lands, message us and we will resolve with a new ETA.

घर से एक चिट्ठी
A short letter from the studio

We started this because nobody was writing about Indian art the way we wanted to read it.

RareMango began in a one-room office in Bombay in 2022. Two of us, a printer that was always too hot, and a stubborn idea: that Indian wall art deserves a brand that talks about it the way friends talk about it, specific, warm, occasionally wrong, never bored.

Most of what you’ll find on this site is reproduction prints. Museum-grade, framed by our own team, attributed by region and school. Some of it is original work by named artists. All of it is curated, not collected. If a piece is on our site, it’s because we’d hang it on our own walls.

If you ever want to talk to a human about a piece, the WhatsApp number on the package is mine. We mean it.
