Edinburgh's Royal Mile runs from the Castle on its volcanic plug down to Holyrood Palace. The medieval city lived in tenement closes off the spine, eight floors high, the rich on top and the poor at the bottom, all of them sharing the same staircase. The Enlightenment got the New Town across the valley as a polite alternative. The spine kept its arguments. Burns wrote here. Stevenson grew up here. Both of them complained about the rain.

We started this because nobody was writing about Indian art the way we wanted to read it.
RareMango began in a one-room office in Bombay in 2022. Two of us, a printer that was always too hot, and a stubborn idea: that Indian wall art deserves a brand that talks about it the way friends talk about it, specific, warm, occasionally wrong, never bored.
Most of what you’ll find on this site is reproduction prints. Museum-grade, framed by our own team, attributed by region and school. Some of it is original work by named artists. All of it is curated, not collected. If a piece is on our site, it’s because we’d hang it on our own walls.
