About this print

Buenos Aires wall art, the Belle Époque facades the tango grew up in.

Buenos Aires is the most European city in South America. The Belle Époque architects who built the Avenida de Mayo trained in Paris and brought the Haussmann grammar back. The tango that came up from the docks of La Boca in the eighteen-eighties did not. Borges wrote that Buenos Aires was a city he could only really see when he was somewhere else. He is in the cemetery in Recoleta now. He has the view from the inside.

A Buenos Aires wall art print in the vintage travel-poster lineage. Buenos Aires Belle Époque facades along Avenida de Mayo, plane-tree-lined avenue, tango dancers on the cobbled square, vintage nineteen-fifty tram. Printed on 350gsm cotton coated archival matte paper or 380gsm canvas, premium box frames, signed and shipped from Bombay.

Goes onto a library wall in a house that owns a Borges. Lives well in a dining anchor above a long table. For a foyer in a room that takes its evenings long.

Why this one earns the wall
  • Print and paper. 350gsm cotton coated matte archival paper, acid-free, fade-resistant for fifty-plus years. Canvas option in 380gsm poly-cotton.
  • Palette. Belle Époque stone, plane green, tram red, plaza ochre, sky soft.
  • No glare. Matte finish, no acrylic. Looks like a print on a wall, not a screen.
  • 3+1 Framing Standard. Five-layer build, hand-finished box frame, hanging wire pre-installed. Framed in Bombay.
  • On your wall by Friday. Production starts within twelve hours of order. Free shipping pan-India.
  • Our promise. If anything is off when it lands, message us and we will resolve with a new ETA.

घर से एक चिट्ठी
A short letter from the studio

We started this because nobody was writing about Indian art the way we wanted to read it.

RareMango began in a one-room office in Bombay in 2022. Two of us, a printer that was always too hot, and a stubborn idea: that Indian wall art deserves a brand that talks about it the way friends talk about it, specific, warm, occasionally wrong, never bored.

Most of what you’ll find on this site is reproduction prints. Museum-grade, framed by our own team, attributed by region and school. Some of it is original work by named artists. All of it is curated, not collected. If a piece is on our site, it’s because we’d hang it on our own walls.

If you ever want to talk to a human about a piece, the WhatsApp number on the package is mine. We mean it.
